Dear Friend,
Welcome to the latest Awakenings Newsletter which features:
- A 24-hour world-wide Meditation Marathon.
- Dr. Atul
Shah's epic Masala Tour of Britain and his interview with me.
- Yoga and Meditation class schedule starting
January 2011.
2010 is soon coming
to a close. So let's take time this holiday to contemplate on what's
really important. Let's discover a pure motivation in our hearts,
allowing every moment to be filled with a sense of purpose. Let us
express this not just for our own sake but for the sake of the
whole.
EnlightenNext’s UK Meditation
Marathon - A 24-hour world-wide event to raise consciousness (and money!)
for the evolution of culture.
Join me for the EnlightenNext Meditation Marathon on Saturday 11th and Sunday
12th December 2010. The Marathon is for 24-hours
where we can push our own limits in relationship to the timeless
practice of meditation as well as, if you choose, helping to raise funds
for the work for EnlightenNext here in the UK.
You can participate for the full 24 hours or less.
Why a
meditation marathon?
Normally, when we think about changing culture, we tend to think about
agitating, not meditating. Meditation is about peace and stillness—the
discovery of an infinite depth beyond the mind and beyond the world. That
doesn’t seem like the stuff that cultural revolutions are made of. But in
Andrew Cohen’s teaching of Evolutionary Enlightenment, meditation opens
up a perspective that is not only personally liberating but also creates
the dynamic space in which we can evolve, transform and develop new
capacities, individually and together.
In this unique
orientation, meditation is not simply a path to peace but the foundation
for a truly creative engagement with the life process. So whether you are
new to meditation or have been a serious practitioner for many years,
this event will give you the unique opportunity to learn about meditation
in the context of evolution.
I will be
meditating for the full 24 hours and would very much appreciate your
support. Please see my donation page
- thank you!
Masala Tour - Dr. Atul K Shah
Writer,
broadcaster and social entrepreneur, Dr. Atul
Shah of Diverse Ethics embarked
on a very innovative and original ‘Masala Tour’ to showcase ‘India in
Britain’ and its unique richness and diversity. In his highly
acclaimed book, ‘Celebrating Diversity’, Dr. Shah demonstrates the vast
cultural wealth of this country which is often ‘ghettoised’ and therefore
misunderstood. Instead, we
can all benefit hugely from engaging with difference, by learning,
understanding and befriending.
From1st to
25th November 2010, Dr. Shah travelled all over Britain to bring out
this story from the grassroots. He visited businesses, community centres,
leaders and pioneers, artists, up and down the country to highlight their
stories and show how collectively, they are playing a positive role in
building a rich and diverse Britain.

interview with me!
