Mita has been interested in the practice of yoga and healthy living since her youth. She graduated from Kings College, University of London, with a degree in Biochemistry and subsequently trained in Accountancy. Alongside her career, Mita continued to study and practice yoga and other therapies and inspire those around her. Subsequently she left her City career to continue spiritual practice and yoga.

Mita qualified as a yoga teacher with the Vivekananda Yoga Research Foundation in Bangalore in 1992 and has been teaching ever since. She has been inspired by and continues to study with internationally renowned teachers, including Donna Farhi, John Stirk (who was a student of Vanda Scaravelli), Pete Blackaby and Gary Carter.

Mita's qualifications include an ITEC Diploma in Reflexology, Indian Head Massage (Middlesex School of Complementary Medicine), ITEC and MTI diploma in Holistic Massage, Anatomy and Physiology (The School of Natural Health), and Prenatal Massage.

Mita has attuned to Reiki healing levels 1 & 2 with Reiki Master Simon Treselyan. She practices specialist energy healing techniques as taught by author and teacher, Dr Yubraj Sharma, having initially attended his School of Shamanic Homoeopathy. Mita is also featured in Miriam Stoppard's DVD ‘Having a Baby'.
