Yoga

"All the disciplines of yoga are intended for one purpose: to awaken in you a renewed sense of balance and harmony that will gradually reintroduce you to yourself.”
Sandra Anderson & Rolf Sovik, Psy.D.

The ancient teachings and practices of yoga lead the practitioner on a journey of self discovery. Like all journeys we begin at the start – where we are at. Yoga practice opens the door to full participation and celebration of our life as it is. We embrace each moment in our practice and lives. The premise of yoga being a participation rather than a goal to attain, allows a relaxation of the idea that we must get somewhere or be something that we are not already.

By becoming more conscious in life (through spiritual practice and inquiry), we become more aware and sensitive to our habitual patterns which previously passed outside of our awareness. We find our emotions, attitudes and morals, approach to relationships, quality of mind, health and well-being change from within. This transformation is very real and powerful as it does not come through forceful action but manifests through our deepening participation and realisation of “who we are” and “where we are going”.

Mita’s teaching reflects her training and ongoing study with teachers in various forms of Hatha and Classical Yoga, augmented through her own experience of yoga. She teaches yoga as a transformative practice encouraging the individual to remain mindfully focused toward internal exploration and reminds them that their greatest teacher lies within.

The classes are suitable for all levels, encouraging you to work at your own pace through cultivating mindfulness and learning to listen to your own intelligence.

The classes are diverse and fun integrating all the essential elements of yoga practice:

  • Postures
  • Breath Awareness and Pranayama
  • Relaxation
  • Meditation
  • Yoga Philosophy

These practices help to:

  • Maintain flexibility, strength and balance
  • Reduce stress and tension
  • Improve concentration and clarity
  • Calm the mind and instil joy and inner peace
  • Deepen awareness bringing us towards physical mental and spiritual harmony
  • Reconnect to one’s essential being and express from here in each moment

As you undergo subtle but powerful transformation, you will learn how yoga can be applied to the rest of your life for physical health, mental clarity, emotional and spiritual well being enabling you to deal with life in a more enlightened, integrated and joyful way.

‘Yoga has been so beneficial in every aspect of my life; I hope that your lives may also be enriched by the experiences of yoga.’

Mita
