You are invited to join us for a 5 night rejuvenating retreat with yoga, meditation, walking, spiritual inspiration and more at a stunning home-from-home away from it all Berber castle, Kasbah Angour, perched on a hill-top in the Atlas Mountains near Marrakech, with superb panoramic views. This eco-friendly boutique hotel will appeal to nature lovers and walkers, or anyone just wishing to escape and unwind in the simple tranquillity of the Moroccan countryside.

From the outset, it was designed and built with the environment at the forefront, and is surrounded by 10 acres of gardens containing a wonderful mix of plants and trees, including native mountain species. There are many different areas to enjoy and explore. The southern gardens are planted with flower beds, trees & lawn to stroll across and appreciate the delightful vistas. There are also extensive terraces where you can enjoy the sunshine. The northern side of the Kasbah has formal gardens, with rose and other flower beds, low hedges and fruit trees. There is a wonderful courtyard bordered by a pergola for al fresco dining. There is also a kitchen garden to the north-east of the Kasbah where many of the herbs & vegetables featuring in their menus are grown. 

Accommodation is comfortable and spacious, with a rustic feel, befitting the setting. Rooms (all en-suite) are designed with traditional Moroccan materials: cedar and eucalyptus wood, red sandstone, hand-made clay tiles, locally-made furniture with Berber motifs.

Kasbah Angour supports the local community in a massive way. Not only does the hotel provide jobs but it also purchases everything locally supporting local farmers and businesses. Freelance guides and other professionals are also employed locally as they possess local knowledge and provide a unique awareness of the surroundings.

The Whole Being Retreats

We will explore hatha yoga, meditation, spiritual inspiration, connecting with nature and more to renew our connection to our deeper self. These are wonderful tools for inner transformation helping us to deal with life in a more enlightened, integrated and joyful way.

We will also explore yoga off the mat by experiencing the natural beauty around us. We choose comfortable accommodation in beautiful locations to give you a retreat that will truly inspire and uplift creating a happier healthier you! Retreat is your time to dive into the depths of your being and help you experience the stillness of the now, and learn how to access it at any time.

These retreats are intentionally small, a perfect setting for a more personalised experience. A space where you can fully express yourself amongst the nurturing support of an intimate group, create authentic connections and go into solitude when desired. During your stay at Kasbah Angour, you will be served vegetarian/vegan breakfast, buffet lunch and dinner. Our kitchen uses fresh, seasonal produce sourced from our own gardens and local suppliers. The chef offers a variety of Moroccan and Mediterranean themed specialities with the accent firmly on wonderfully flavoured, healthy and colourful dishes.

Moroccan food is not “hot” to taste but is subtly spiced with ginger, cumin, saffron, paprika, cinnamon, garlic, coriander & parsley.

Moroccan dishes include: tajines (slow-cooked vegetables named after the conical earthenware pot in which the dish is cooked); couscous (thrice-steamed, fine semolina served with vegetables, soups and delicious salads (using tasty & colourful fresh vegetables).


In silence we have the chance to allow our experience to be whatever it is. It helps us notice the world around us more clearly and rediscover the wonder of life. I always include a period of silence on my retreats. We move from silence into speaking again gently with the understanding that silent contemplation can be a powerful experience. Some people don’t want to give it up!

The Accommodation – Assif Standard Rooms

The Assif Standard rooms are en-suite and face west and south-west overlooking the river Sidi Fares valley. The word “assif” is Berber for “river”. All Assif Standard rooms have terraces to enjoy the views of the valley and the mountain foot-hills beyond.

The beds can be made up as two singles or one king size double. The rooms curve around the crest of the hillside and vary slightly in size; the average room size is 28m² with a terrace adding a further 12m².

A comfortable stay is further assured by under-floor heating, air conditioning & no smoking inside.
